I’m James, the filmmaker behind James David Films. I create natural, cinematic wedding films for couples across Kent and the South East, capturing the emotion, atmosphere and personality of each day without turning it into a production.
My approach is calm and unobtrusive. I offer gentle guidance when it helps, but most of the day is captured naturally so you can enjoy your wedding without feeling constantly directed.
Couples often tell me they barely noticed I was filming, which is exactly how it should feel.

Yasmin, my fiancée, runs James David Films alongside me, looking after client care, paperwork and meetings behind the scenes. Together, we make sure everything feels personal and organised from your first enquiry through to your wedding day.

From filming around the world to filming weddings
Before starting James David Films, I spent several years travelling and filming people, places and stories while working aboard cruise ships.
That experience taught me to notice the moments that can easily pass unnoticed: nervous hands before the ceremony, a parent holding back tears, laughter between friends and the energy when everyone reaches the dance floor. Explore my wedding videography packages here.
Six years and hundreds of weddings later, that remains at the heart of how I work. My approach is documentary led and natural on the day, then carefully shaped into an emotional, cinematic film in the edit. I blend in, have a laugh with your guests and become part of the day without distracting from it.
