I’m James, the filmmaker behind James David Films.

I’m based in Kent and create natural, cinematic wedding films for couples across Kent, the South East and beyond.

My approach is simple.

I want your wedding films to feel like your wedding day, not like a staged production. I work quietly, keep things relaxed and focus on the moments that matter most.

The voices, reactions, atmosphere and little interactions that are easy to miss in the moment but become priceless afterwards.

HOW IT STARTED

Before wedding filmmaking, I spent years travelling the world working in content and media, working 10 years on a cruise ship, visiting more than 100 countries.

James David Films began in 2020, and since then I’ve had the privilege of filming hundreds of weddings and telling stories in venues across Kent, the South East and further afield.

Wedding filmmaking quickly became the perfect fit for me. Every day is different, every couple is different and every wedding has its own energy.

WHAT IT’S LIKE HAVING ME THERE

I’m not there to turn your wedding into a film set.

Most of the day, I’m working quietly in the background, capturing things as they naturally happen. I work closely with your photographer, keep posing to a minimum and make sure you actually get to enjoy your wedding.

That means more real reactions, more natural moments and a film that feels personal rather than overly produced.

MORE THAN JUST A HIGHLIGHT FILM

For me, wedding videography is about more than creating something cinematic.

It’s about preserving the parts of the day that photographs cannot fully capture.

The sound of your vows.
The nerves in someone’s voice.
The laughter during speeches.
The way your family and friends interact when they forget the cameras are there.

Those are the moments I want you to still be able to hear and feel years from now.

When I’m not filming or editing weddings, I’m usually spending time with my family, travelling or doing something involving cameras.

James David Films is a small, personal business, and that is something I’m proud of.

The whole experience will be straightforward, friendly and personal from the first enquiry to the final delivery.
