James and Simon’s Bristol Wedding

A Cinematic Celebration Filled With Heart, Colour and Viral Moments

Some wedding days feel truly special from start to finish, and James and Simon’s Bristol celebration was exactly that. The entire day was filled with warmth, emotion and genuine joy, the kind of atmosphere that makes filming feel effortless and deeply rewarding.

As Kent based wedding videographers, we don’t often travel far across the country, but some couples make the journey absolutely worth it. James and Simon are one of those couples. Their story, their energy and their trust in our style aligned perfectly with the kind of cinematic wedding films we love to create.

A relaxed morning with meaning in every detail

The day began in a bright Bristol townhouse where both James and Simon got ready. There was an excited calm in the air, subtle nerves, shared laughter and all the small moments that say so much without words. Their suits hung side by side, their vows were handwritten and thoughtful, and every detail felt intentional and true to them.

The morning light filled the rooms, giving us natural, cinematic frames that set the tone beautifully for the rest of the film.

A heartfelt church ceremony full of emotion

Their ceremony took place in a historic Bristol church, warm lighting, beautiful architecture and a sense of tradition that added real depth to the filming. The moment Simon walked down the aisle towards James was one of the most emotional moments of the entire day. Guests were moved before the vows even began.

Their ceremony blended humour, sincerity and pride in a way that made the whole room feel connected. It was powerful to capture.

Cinematic colour, smoke bombs and a TikTok-viral moment

After the ceremony, we headed outside for some relaxed couple shots. This is where the day took on a life of its own.

James and Simon brought out LGBTQ flag–coloured smoke bombs, filling the air with vibrant reds, oranges, yellows, greens, blues and purples. The colours swirled around them as they walked through the gardens hand in hand, and it created some of the most cinematic footage we’ve ever captured.

One of the clips from this moment later went viral on TikTok, reaching thousands of viewers who fell in love with their energy, the colours and the emotion of the day.

An elegant celebration at Malvern College

The reception was held at the stunning Malvern College, a venue with timeless architecture that feels straight out of a film. Grand buildings, ivy covered walls and sweeping grounds made every corner a perfect backdrop.

Inside, the atmosphere was warm and joyful. The speeches were hilarious, the kind of humour that comes from years of friendships, inside jokes and stories that had the whole room laughing. These moments gave us incredible audio to build into the storytelling of the final film.

As the night went on, the energy only grew. The dance floor filled fast and never emptied, ending the day on the same joyful high it started with.

A wedding that celebrates love, pride and authenticity

James and Simon’s wedding was more than a beautiful day at two iconic locations. It was a celebration of who they are, authentic, joyful, colourful and deeply connected.

Their final wedding film blends emotional storytelling, cinematic visuals, vibrant colour and natural moments captured exactly as they happened. It is a film that will age beautifully and bring their memories back to life for years to come.

Although we are based in Kent, we will always consider travelling for couples whose story and energy align with our work. James and Simon’s wedding was a powerful reminder of why we love what we do, capturing love in its most genuine form, wherever it takes us.

If you are planning your own wedding in Bristol, Malvern College or anywhere across the UK and want a cinematic wedding film that reflects who you are, we would love to hear from you.
