Sarah and Josh’s Elegant Wedding at Westenhanger Castle

A Cinematic Celebration Filled With Romance, Rain and Unforgettable Moments

Some weddings feel like they belong in a storybook and Sarah and Josh’s celebration at Westenhanger Castle was exactly that. From the moment we arrived, the castle grounds carried a sense of history, charm and quiet romance that gave the day its own atmosphere. Even with the rain rolling in, nothing could take away from how beautiful the occasion felt.

Westenhanger Castle is a dream for cinematic wedding videography. Tall stone walls, sweeping gardens and the iconic Dovecote create a setting that looks incredible in real time and even better on film. As a Kent based wedding videographer, filming here always delivers something special, and Sarah and Josh’s wedding was no exception.

Rain that brought everyone together

Just before the ceremony, the skies opened. Not a gentle drizzle. A proper downpour that arrived out of nowhere and changed the plan for a moment. What stood out was the kindness of the registrars. Instead of rushing or pushing ahead, they waited with patience and complete understanding until the rain eased.

That small gesture made the ceremony feel even more personal. It allowed Sarah to walk in without stress and without the distraction of umbrellas and puddles. The pause created a sense of anticipation that made the moment even more emotional.

A ceremony filled with warmth and genuine emotion

Once the rain settled, the ceremony began with the castle walls surrounding everyone like a protective embrace. The atmosphere was warm, heartfelt and full of connection. Sarah and Josh exchanged vows with the sound of gentle raindrops still lingering in the background, giving the moment a soft cinematic feel that was perfect for natural storytelling.

The Dovecote glowing with tealights

As the day moved into the evening, the team at Westenhanger Castle transformed the Dovecote into something magical. They filled the entire space with tealights, turning the historic stone interior into a warm golden glow.

For filming, it was incredible. The flickering candlelight created depth, softness and a romantic atmosphere that suited Sarah and Josh completely. Every shot inside the Dovecote looked like a scene from a film, especially during the couple portraits.

Phenomenal couple shots despite the rain

Once the rain passed, the clouds broke just enough to give us the perfect soft light for their portraits. Sarah and Josh moved effortlessly together, laughing, holding each other and enjoying the moment without any pressure.

The combination of the castle grounds, the greenery still glistening from the rain and the infectious chemistry between them created footage that felt natural, elegant and beautifully cinematic.

Black tie elegance for the boys

Josh and the boys wore classic black tie and it elevated the entire look of the day. The contrast of sharp tuxedos against the historic stone backdrop gave a timeless feel to the footage. Everything looked clean, stylish and high end.

Black tie at a castle always brings a certain sophistication and this wedding proved exactly that. The shots of the boys together before the ceremony are some of our favourites from the whole day.

A celebration filled with joy, laughter and real connection

The reception was warm, lively and full of moments that reflected who Sarah and Josh are. Speeches had everyone laughing, the room felt full of love and the dance floor came alive from the moment the music started. The evening was a perfect blend of elegance and energy, with friends and family celebrating right until the end.

A film that reflects the real beauty of their day

Sarah and Josh’s wedding at Westenhanger Castle had everything. Romance, atmosphere, heartfelt emotion and those unforgettable moments made even stronger because of the rain earlier in the day.

Their final wedding film blends all of this together with our natural style and cinematic storytelling, capturing who they are and the story of their day in a timeless way.

If you are planning your wedding at Westenhanger Castle and want a cinematic wedding film that captures the emotion, the atmosphere and the real moments that make your day yours, we would love to hear from you.
